All of us on Twitter might have noticed something new on the website. Well, the tweets are still there even those coming from the quite annoying ones. Nope, it’s not the number of following that you have painstakingly stalked to get Twitter followers. Actually, you won’t exactly see it directly on your account but it visible on others’ Twitter accounts. And that’s because they have immediately activated “it” after knowing about it.

What is this “it” I am talking about?

It’s the Facebook-like header photo on Twitter. Yup, it’s true. Unbelievable isn’t it? It’s like Twitter to poke a fight with Facebook on patents, copyright or what techie businesspeople call it. Remember how Apple sued Samsung for some features they claimed to be copied by the latter company? I don’t really know if that applies with these free social networking websites.

However that works, only one thing is for sure – people are going to make the most out of this Twitter header photo, if we can call it that (without getting sued—actually Twitter calls it Header Photo).

One thing that people on Twitter usually do that marks them as failures is the way they use free pre-made images online or simply using Twitter header themes for that matter. What’s wrong with these people? Don’t they know that being unique and setting yourself apart from others will give more attention to their Twitter handle? Keep this is mind, “there is no room for mediocrity on Twitter,” not with millions of users want the same fame and recognition for their own expertise.

 

Upload an attractive profile picture

If you have activated your Twitter header photo, you will see how your profile picture became the center-piece, literally and point-blank the focus of all eyes that visit your Twitter page. So what do you do? Awaken your creative side and think of a beautiful concept that can either create a perfect contrast or perfect symmetry and blending of your header photo and profile picture.

See what I mean? Ryan Seacrest was able to create a perfect blend of his profile picture and header photo. Doesn’t it look so much like Facebook cover photo? You bet, it does.

 

Improve your profile bio

It’s not only your Twitter profile picture that has been given the chance to be the center of attention but also your Twitter profile bio as well. Yes, I am talking about your description, location, Twitter username and website/blog URL. So if I were you, make sure that you go and improve all of them, most especially the description.

Twitter has gone and done something risky with this so-called header photo. Users have yet to voice any strong opinions against it but still, we are all ears. We don’t want to ride on a trend that is not really popular with the masses, do we?
